well, i offered in one of his threads to have him on the show and posters seemed excited at the possibility and we got it done so now you can hear from the man himself on the newest episode of "shunned".

one of our very own stepped up to tell his story, well, aside from myself of course.

it was great getting to actually speak with him.. this is my first international interview for the podcast.

If only JDubs were truthful with their Bible students

jdubs are the masters of deception.

what would you do if you were studying with the jdubs and they told you that when you get the truth, become a jdub, and join the borg that every single person in the world is bad association?

in fact, you will have to be careful because even some in the congregation can also be bad association and you have to be careful around them if they have too much facial hair or if the sisters' skirts are a little too short or if the brother pants are a little too tight.. and you will find such delight in not dwelling upon the life that you have now which is unimportant because this system of things is going to be destroyed so there is no need to get a good education or to worry about your problems.. you just need to focus on the paradise earth that is just around the corner..

I used to feel overwhelmed when I studied with someone cuz there was so much for them to learn doctrinely let alone all the other politics of this religion...it used to bother me when the hypocrites would love bomb the bible students but ignore other members of the congregation- so glad I don't go there anymore!

They are increasingly appealing to emotion

they always have but lately, they've taken it to a whole new level.

the new convention video about the end, the many videos at conventions and meetings, the new songs, all highly emotionally manipulative.

and they're working.

I remember sitting around with friends from the hall and family after 9/11(they really used that as an opportunity for emotional manipulation) discussing how the end had to be within the next 10 years...well here we are in 2018! I didn't realize then how much cognitive disedance i was experiencing mainly because I didn't even know what that was. I never could reconcile or balance how we were supposed to live our present lives but plan for an unknown approaching end of the world. It is impossible to make decisions without having all the facts..I feel sad for all the Jws still asleep that are continuing to make decisions based on the deceptive fairy tale we were tricked into believing as truth..if you are lurking and reading our posts please take it from me- the sooner you accept that you are going to die just like all generations of man before us- the sooner you can start living your only real life NOW!!

Receiving so much hate recently....

well, as you all know, my wife (unstuck) and i are not df or da.. we just stopped attending several years back after my "apostate" online activity was found by a nosey employee of ours while she was working in our office (long story if anyone wants to know - it would have to be another thread).

we never met with any elders - no congregation judicial activity occurred (as we would never consent to do so anyway).

so our policy has been to be the same kind, loving, normal people we have always been.

My husband and I faded several years ago and we were discussing how those still in who run into us act- it's like all the bs about the love for the brothers that prove the religion is the truth is no longer the MO. We were speculating that those still in are blaming us leavers for the KH mergers and taking out their frustrations about it on those of us smart enough to stop going to the cult indoctrination sessions. I call it soft shunning when they stop following us on social media. It's like they are confused we are living happy fulfilling lives because they are supposed to have the best life ever- haha they certainly don't!

it’s quite affirming to see the horrific material that they’re serving up at the convention this year.

aside from blatant homophobia, the scenes at the end of the convention that are discussed on another thread stoop to new levels of fear mongering.

it seems to occur to nobody inside the organisation that this kind of material could trigger fear, deprsssion, anxiety, stress.

I agree with everything everyone has said but I can't help but think how now that we don't indoctrinate ourselves with this sort of nonsense...I feel so much at ease with life in general. I used to have an overwhelming dread that Satan and his demons were going to get me, it was borderline panic. I was afraid to pray out loud for fear Satan would know my innermost thoughts and use it against me to trip me up in a snare...it really sounds so ridiculous now that I am saying it...the worldly people I associate with day after day are very pleasant and i never want to be part of the hateful congregation we used to go to...I really feel bad for you pimo folks having to endure this cult indoctrination along with the judgmental hypocrites- I hope our fade can continue...ugh
